The institute itself also has several current openings for various jobs requiring some background in Economics.

- International Economic Development Council (IEDC)
- ...merger of the American Economic Development Council (AECD) and the Council for Urban

- International Monetary Fund
- Continually recruiting for economists.
- American Economic Association Job Openings for Economists (JOE)
- ...jobs in the US and internationally, in both academic and
non-academic fields. Published about every month, generally on the 5th of the month. Listings are grouped into U.S. Academic, International, and Nonacademic Positions, and

other, a journal of job experiences, a teacher training forum, and links to even more resources.
- ESL Employment
- ...certainly offers a lot of free employment listings for ESL / EFL jobs, but you must
register (you can view jobs before registering). Registration looks simple, but I cannot find a privacy policy posted. However, lots of jobs all over the world.
- ESLJobs.com
- ...jobs for teachers of English as a second or foreign language. The site is
divided into world regions, or you can opt to look at all recent ads. They do
note the date of posting for all ads, which is good because it looks like they
post them for 1000 days. Registration is not required but they really encourage
you to fill in the form.
- Foreign Teachers’ Guide to Living and Teaching in China (MiddleKingdomLife.com)
- "This is a free comprehensive online guide written by career educators and experienced foreign experts in China for prospective and current foreign teachers that contains volumes of well-documented information about living and teaching English in China. It covers more than 50 topics and addresses what every foreign teacher should know before accepting a job offer. If you are thinking about living and teaching English in China, then you owe it to yourself to read this guide." This guide is enormous and really covers every topic you might possibly think of in terms of relocating to China for the purpose of teaching English as a second language. They suggest you start with the
Prospective Foreign English Teacher Self-Assessment Tool to see if you are pursuing a realistic goal. Then, to get an oversight of the entire guide, check the Comprehensive Summary to quickly cover the most important points discussed here. Need something even shorter because you are trying to determine if a current job offer is good? Review their mini-checklist with links to relevant sections of the guide. Marvelous discussion and guide not just to working in China but also the many issues an ESL educator working in a foreign country needs to consider.
- Language Jobs
- ...as you all know, I tend to stay away from sites operated by individuals who do not appear to have any real background in the employment / career industry. I am making an exception here, because this individual has set up a site with links to search of specific websites for jobs requiring skills in specific languages. No registration needed, and you only use this site to get to those. You can see the sites to be searched, and the search string used, and it is a pretty easy way to do a quick check to see who needs your language expertise.
- The Russian Opportunities Blog
- ..."posting ads for jobs, internship and volunteer opportunities, fellowship opportunities, and other tidbits for people who are seeking to work in the area. There will be a mix of jobs based in the USA and abroad. And some may require additional functional expertise: such as health, finance, humanitarian experience, etc." That is on top of your language proficiency. This blog is operated by an individual who has been receiving these sorts of announcements for years and decided to create a place for them to be shared and easily accessed by all. He generally updates on Sundays, with possible extra updates for urgent postings. From the front page you can access all the listings in reverse date of posting, but check the tags on the right side to quickly access posts in specific groups (NGO - name, GOV - name, University, Russia - city, USA - city). All posts link back to the
organization who posted them.
- TeslJobs.com
- ...not a recruiter but a location for the posting of jobs for Teachers of English as a Second Language plus resumes, resources, and discussion forums. While the contact info on this free site is limited to an email address, the domain registration info shows the name and address of the operator (Nova Scotia, Canada). However, you do not need to register even if you want to post a resume/CV (these will be public), and he is not the go-between for the jobs posted here, so I am not too concerned about the lack of information. I do appreciate his warning to not send credit card and bank info to employers and the many scam warnings posted on the site. Be sure to report any scams or concerns to the site operator.
- Tomedes Translation Services
- ...with office in Israel and the US, Tomedes offers translation services worldwide via the Internet. They are always looking for new people to join their team of freelance translators. You register (free) and when new jobs are posted that match your language abilities, you have the opportunity to bid on these projects. If you win the bid, you are expected to complete the project immediately. Please read the information for Providers in the Help area to be sure you understand their business model and how you are paid for your services.
- Top Language Jobs
- ...some truly fantastic jobs for professionals in all fields with language skills. You can search by language, location, or industry to find jobs that match your professional qualifications with your language skills. You can search and view the jobs without registering, but to apply for positions listed here and to access other areas of the site you will need to register (free), which means creating an extensive profile to be stored here. This particular portal on the network is in English, but you will find other gateways in other languages at the bottom of the page.
- Translation Industry Career Guide from Lingo24
- No, not a job site, but a guide to careers in the translation industry from a provider of translation services to businesses. (Yes, they are trying to attract new talent.) Please note that this company is based in the UK so many of their suggested career resources are also based in the UK. However, the information and advice is good.

with these professionals and becoming a certified interpreter. Membership includes access
to the association's publications and services, and RID certification is not required in order
for you to join this group.
You may want to review the International Employment page for
more ideas and sources. There may also be some overlap with History / Classics.

- ChurchStaffing.com
- ...nice site advertising various positions in churches across the US and
Canada. I like that they add size of church, and worship style to the
job search criteria, but you can also opt to search by the many categories
on the front page (scroll down to see the full list on the left). Recent ads
as well as recent resumes are featured on the front page, so be prepared
for a very public presence if you post your resume here. Jobs can be
listed for as long as 6 months, so you may want to check that an older position
is still open before applying. Smaller congregations get a break on the price
of postings.
- MinistryEmployment
- ...a job board listings jobs in Christian ministry in the US and
Canada. Jobs cover the occupational spectrum from ministers to writers to business
administrators, but all function in the ministry and are in organizations affiliated
with various Christian faiths (schools, camps, churches) or target services and
resources for this group. A free service of Providence College & Theological
Seminary, Otterburne, Manitoba (Canada).
- Women's Path Into Ministry: Six Major Studies by Edward C. Lehman, Jr.
- This report, released by Pulpit & Pew: The Duke Center for Excellence in Ministry,
"sketches the broad outlines of a woman's 'career path' into ministry, from seminary and
ordination through parish placement, and examines such factors as collegiality, ministry style, and the influence of female pastoral leadership on congregants, denominations, and culture." You can read an executive summary online or download the full report in PDF format (you'll need a copy of the free Adobe Reader to view it). Women in ministry will find this interesting as will women considering a call to this profession.
- US Army Chaplain Corps
US Air Force Chaplain Corps
ChaplainCare: The US Navy Chaplain Corps
- All branches of the US Armed Forces plus their reserve forces have an urgent need for men and women of all faiths to support all persons in uniform. These links will take you to the principle Chaplain Corps information websites of each service branch so you can learn about this opportunity.
We also have information on church administration and
resources for Faith-based Organizations.
